PROJECT DESCRIPTION

In De Kuip soccer stadium in Rotterdam soccer fans generated power with their own feet while cheering on their team. With our Sustainable Energy Floor we converted the energy of jumping fans into usable electricity.

Energy Floor in De Kuip

The Sustainable Energy Floor was installed at the main entrance of De Kuip stadium and in front of the W stand on the Maastribune. Thousands of Feyenoord fans who entered De Kuip through this entrance could experience for themselves what it’s like to generate energy with your own footsteps.

In a few hours the enthusiastic Feyenoord fans generated 50.000 joules. Unfortunately this match ended in a 2-2 draw with AZ. Jordie Claassie rescued Feyenoord with a goal in stoppage time. Imagine what the result would be if Feyenoord would have won the game…

Sustainable Energy Floor

The Sustainable Energy Floor is the world’s most efficient energy converting pedestrian floor system. It can be applied in all public areas with high footfall like railway stations, airports, walkways and commercial buildings. The installation of these floors will allow the public to make a positive impact to the energy balance of the location.
